For sale is an original 1971 Johnson / Evinrude 40HP outboard motor cowling (cover) removed from a Model 40EL71B engine. This OEM engine hood was pulled from a motor that had only a slip in the lower unit before being removed and stored indoors for several years.
The cowling still has the original factory decals in place. While there is some expected fading and cosmetic wear due to age, the text and branding remain visible. Structurally, the hood is solid and in good used condition, especially for a part over 50 years old.
