I put this on a 24′ pontoon. Actually, this is the second one. I have a 20# anchor attached. The first one lasted a little over a year before the gears stripped. The first one also had a flaw in the rope and I ended up losing a 20# anchor when it broke. It’s great when it works but expensive when it breaks.

I kind of wish it had a remote switch mounted on the captain’s console instead of having to go up to the winch to raise or lower the anchor but that is an extra option

This winch is made fairly well and okay for the price if you can get by with something that doesn’t have to be very sturdy. Some features, like the anchor safety chain are described as being adjustable and strong when it is merely a plastic loop with a clip that is non-adjustable and doesn’t even resemble the diagram in the instructions. Probably just a cost cutting change after having a better part originally. Not a heavy duty or type of winch that I would trust for anything but the lightest, non strenuous service.
